Past Projects

Below are a few of our recent past projects, our response and their outcomes  (Please click on the menu's to the left for more in depth details on these past issues):

    • Union Sponsored Project Labor Agreements (P.L.A.'s) - The unions are pushing project labor agreements on many projects which increase project and labor costs due to many union work rule limitations, decreased competition, which further drive up the costs to the taxpayers on taxpayer paid projects.  The Central Solano Citizen/Taxpayer Group opposes Project Labor Agreements and urges government agencies to avoid such costly and burdensome constraints on their projects.  Please read more about our resolution to oppose P.L.A.'s and more about P.L.A.'s by clicking here.

  • Proposition 56 - This deceptive measure, also known as "The Blank Check Initiative, pretends to discipline Sacramento politicians, but it actually rewards them with an open-ended blank check. It makes it easier for the Legislature to increase property, income, sales and other taxes, year after year, without justification or bipartisan consensus.  CSCTG worked tirelessly to help educate the public on what these politicians were trying to pass and the effects this proposition would have by running media campaigns in local papers, presenting an extensive PowerPoint presentation to local groups, passing out flyers at several local post offices and stores as well as creating this web site.  This proposition was overturned by our voters!!!

  • Regional Measure 2 -This measure produces a 50% toll hike on bridge tolls to supposedly provide $100 Million toward the I-80/680 Interchange project’s $740 Million to $1 Billion cost for repairs.  We pay enough now in federal, state, and local taxes (including car and gasoline taxes) for the I-80/680 junction to have been fixed years ago. Bay Area ferries provide only 13,000 passenger trips daily — versus 18,000,000 auto trips. Yet ferries get nearly twice RM2’s highway allocation!  We believe that this interchange needs work, but that we currently have money being stolen from us and misused, plenty of money currently to make repairs to the I-80/68o interchange.  The bottom line is, that we need to make our politicians get responsible with our money which they are currently taking!  CSCTG worked tirelessly to help educate the public on what these politicians were trying to pass and the effects this measure would have by running media campaigns in local papers, passing out flyers at several local post offices and stores. This measure was not passed in Solano County but due to it being a regional measure, several of the other regions passed it, even regions which do not have bridges in which the tolls will be levied were able to vote on it, due this, the regions with bridges with these taxes being levied will now pay fifty percent more!
